U.S. Chaos – We’ve Got The Weapons and For Being Young Re-Release
Re-mastered By Marty Munsch, U.S. Chaos’ “We’ve Got The Weapons” album Re-Release is now remastered and available online alongside “For Being Young”; whose origins stem from the obvious last tracks lead in, on the album We’ve Got the Weapons, that was placed, but later recorded by Munsch in 1996. This shorter version was as a slated as a 45 RPM version but eventually only appearing in 1996 on “Punk Dwellings – NY’s Finest” compilation to rave reviews, with b/ Last Call for Alcohol. (Reviews) 2 other extended play versions, that were never released also existed. One separate version is available on Itunes, Youtube, Sound Cloud, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora and various others, also will be available as CD on PRR here’s a video from a gig of them hammering away and a link to the release page of our distributors.
Marty Munsch later co-engineered and produced a second major release, L.P. for U.S. Chaos,”You Can’t Hear A Picture“, which gained much attention and critical acclaim from press worldwide that also led to videos and other singles. The group will be releasing more material and are currently working from Inner Ear Studio, in Arlington, VA and Cloud Factory Studios in Northern NJ.
As an off toppic but related to graphic design; we have always been involved with art, print and heavy ammounts of photography and comics, especally Kirk Lindo VAMPEROTICA, THE VAMPRESS LUXURA and RESCUEMAN! whos rendering of a (20 year U.S. Chaos aniversary image) and Love and Rockets comics, crated by The Hernandez brothers Gilbert, Jaime. All these genius artitists have made quite a few masterpieces and are about as true to the American punk ideal from their perspectives as it gets; please, take on how it is and was. We totaly appreciate their work. It deffinately resonates and it redefined American Comics. I’ve been following them since the late 1970’s thus caused me to gravitate to being a massive follower of the Band Love and Rockets, who I’ve had the luck to keep comany with on several occations. You can see their historic video here called Love and Rockets: The Great American Comic Book, it’s well worth your time and is also rumored the U.S. Chaos logo is among the artwork. The group Love and Rockets are an English rock band formed in 1985 by former Bauhaus members Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins after that group split in 1983.

U.S. Chaos are an American punk rock band from Paterson, New Jersey, United States, formed in 1981 from remnants of first wave punk outfits The Radicals in 1978 then The Front Line in 1979. They are the first American band to introduce United States, to the Oi!/street punk style. Irony is although they never chant it in their music, the band’s approach was to play music with lyrics that had an overtly right-wing prose and sense of American patriotism. It hit hard; probably harder than it was expected then it just stuck like radioactive fallout. They often played recordings of military marches and air raid sirens before going on stage. U.S. Chaos are considered pioneers without a doubt, an institution reguarding New Jersey as well as New York and alot of Pensylvania Punk history, where they drew a massive fanbase from on the starting line. So as the legacy goes, “The Radicals” with Gary Reitmeyer, Glenn “Spikey” Mayer would separate with Alex Kinen, who would later have morphed full circle, to cause the first legitimate hardcore-punk genre split in history, predating all others, to form Cause For Alarm and Agnostic Front.
1983, U.S. Chaos supported performances on the first American tour leg with The Exploited and Iron Cross. Later on a massive bill with The Exploited, U.K. Subs and Cro-Mags at The Rock Hotel at the New York City Ritz. The lineup at this time was Skolski on vocals, Gibson on bass, Spike Glenn Mayer on drums, Gary Reitmeyer on guitar and Brian Daley (HC) on rhythm guitar. Their first release was the We’ve Got the Weapons, a vinyl EP released in 1983 that was received with immediate worldwide praise and outrage because of its war-hawkish cartoon graphics and overwhelming professional commercial appearance; that bucked the system of punk and went directly for the throat. It was a punk first. That was created by genius graphic designers Terry Keenan and Mark Jewell. It’s production, including recording and printing by Ross Eliss, cost them $5,000, which was unheard of in the American punk scene at the time, who were defiant. The drew absolute outrage from locals in New York City, New Jersey and the rest of the worlds music and professional industry types alike. The rest is history.
